The house is being built on the grounds of the Tamworth Base Hospital.

It will be a home away from home for families of seriously ill children being treated at hospital, providing accommodation and respite for their parents and carers. It will also cater for children on day visits that are forced to travel long distances to receive medical treatment.

This house will provide somewhere for them to rest and recuperate before beginning the long journey back home.

The house will serve the people of the New England Northwest with strong links to Ronald McDonald House in the Hunter and be run by a local manager with support from volunteers and be open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

We believe education is important and we are also there to help. A Learning Program will operate from the House which will provide assistance in the education 'catch up' that is necessary for so many children recovering from illness.
